Allison Garfinkel is an experienced lactation consultant with 10 years experience supporting families through their infant-feeding journeys and 23 years of experience as a registered nurse.

Her career has included working with families at Penn Medicine, Main Line Heath and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). 

​

In 2023, Allison founded Breast Assured Lactation with the goal of providing compassionate, individualized support to help families feel confident in their feeding choices. As a mother herself, Allison breastfed her three children for a combined seven years, giving her both professional expertise and personal experience to draw upon.

Allison believes that every families feeding journey is unique and is committed to providing evidence-based, judgement-free support from pregnancy through postpartum and beyond. ​​

 Karen Brogan is an experienced lactation consultant with more than 20 years as a women's health nurse. Her  lifelong passion for caring for women and children began as a child, helping mothers in her community care for their children.

 

She believes ​in meeting moms where they uniquely are and providing them with compassionate, judgement-free support and that breastfeeding should nurture the connection between mom and baby rather than cause undue, added stress.

Karen brings a holistic approach to her care recognizing that every mother and baby is unique, and everyone has their individual path. Karen wants parents to feel supported, confident, and empowered every step of the way of providing the optimal nutrition for their infants.
